How can I stop doing this?

You're probably just insecure of your talents. In my opinion, I don't think you should stop doing this, especially if you want to do something art related when you get older. Try showing your closest friends your sketches and get their opinions. I'm sure they're really good, you just need reassurance. Be proud of your talents and keep doing what you do.
